At a surface level this game totally looks like Overwatch, but I feel it has enough unique mechanics that it can be considered a new game: - Destructible environment. - Synergy abilities between characters. - Their character already have unique lore and abilities from the comics and they did a good job implementing it to the game. - 3rd Person - Open role queue 6v6

Yes it is. ... and? lol. there are only so many things you can do in a genre of game before you've done it all, try to make a roaster of 10 characters for a game like TF2, Overwatch, Paladins, etc. with all of their moves and skills being completely unique. It can't be done XD It's better for games to just stop trying to do different things and focus more on making their games unique and stand out, even if gameplay is similar.

"everybody is talking about marvel rivals" is a bit of stretch. literally forgot about the game a week after the trailer dropped.

I don't get the OW compare, it's closer to Paladins and probably will be only slightly more popular because of the Marvel tag.

I hate how this game is handling this alpha, theyre treating it like an event, like coachella, or even like a currency. Its genuinly like bitcoin. Everyone in the alpha generates a code they can give to someone else, and then that person can do the same, basically creating endless alpha codes, then their partnered "creators" are handing out like 1 to up to 25 codes per stream of this alpha, and then also on the marvel rivals discord they hand out 50 alpha codes every couple hours in a "danny's happy caravan". They are pretending to have scarcity of this alpha yet allowing tons and tons of people into the game, instead of just letting everyone in. Artificially fluctuating the "supply and demand" of this alpha. This game could be out. Genuinely, i havent seen any bugs, it looks very polished for an alpha, yet they hand out a crap ton of codes to join but also dangle the chance of getting one of the codes over everyone elses heads. Theyre profiting so much just over this alpha, there is no way netease isnt one of the 10 people on ebay selling codes for this game for $50 a code with over 100 codes to sell.
